WebSundew

The purpose of the powerful web scrapping tool WebSundew is to help you collect and analyze data that is available online. With this application, you can easily extract data from various webpages, store it on your local machine, and analyze it at your convenience.

There are several WebSundew versions to choose from: Lite, Standard, Professional, and Enterprise. To run any WebSundew edition, your PC must meet the following system requirements: 2GHz Intel or AMD processor, 2GB of RAM memory, monitor capable of 1280x768 resolution, Windows XP/Vista/7.

To get the Pro version up and running, you will need to download a 38.4MB executable, run it, then click through a few simple steps presented to you by a setup wizard. Before you can start using the application, you must activate a 15-day trial or, if you already have one, enter an activation key or a license file. To activate the 15-day trial, you will have to complete a form that asks for a bit of info about yourself.

There are three main panes on the application’s customizable interface. To the left there’s the Welcome pane that displays info on how to use the application – how to create your first data extraction projects to be more precise. In the middle there’s the Browser pane that you can use to surf the web and access the webpages you want. And to the right there’s the Workspace pane that lets you load a couple of tutorials.

With the abovementioned point-and-click interface, you can surf the web, you can extract data from websites (set it up so data is extracted automatically), and you can analyze all the extracted data. As mentioned above, there are several WebSundew editions to choose from. The features you get depend on the edition you get. Here are the features you can expect to get from the Pro edition: export text data into Excel, export data into text, export data to XML, download files and images, extract local data, represent data as RSS and publish it, store data in custom text format, database support, agent parameter list, run the agent from the command line, schedule when agents run, send extracted data to a FTP server or email, add notifications.
